During my banking career I travelled extensively through Southern Africa. I was born in and grew up in Zimbabwe, so know that country well.

I moved to South Africa in 1979 and have travelled widely in my adopted country.

In 2000 I moved to Botswana as CEO of a small start-up merchant bank that had amongst its shareholders the IDC (World Bank) and the Commonwealth Development Corporation). I completed my three year contract and then decided to leave the corporate world and join my wife in her plant nursery. I set up a vegetable seedling business, selling about 1 million seedlings a month, and a hydroponic lettuce, herb and micro vegetable business to supply restaurants throughout Botswana.

After 13 years we decided to relocate back to the Western Cape.

I always get great enjoyment of showing off South Africa to visitors and in particular the Cape and as I am now in semi-retirement I have spent the last four years taking family and overseas friends around the Cape and the winelands. I then decided to do the exams to become a registered tour guide in all nine provinces which I have done.
